Krajowy Depozyt Papierów Wartościowych (KDPW) has won the Best Performing LOU Award. The award was presented in recognition of KDPW’s continued commitment to maintaining the highest quality of data and an exemplary LEI service.
The award was presented at the GLEIF Forum in Paris on 7 November 2024.
The Best Performing LOU Awards were established in 2023 by the Global LEI Foundation to recognise the efforts of LEI code issuers (LOUs) aiming to ensure top data quality and service levels. The overarching objective is to increase transparency and better manage risks in the global financial market.
The awards were presented in three categories, depending on the number of LEIs managed by the entity. KDPW was awarded in the mid-sized entity category (managing between 5,000 and 100,000 LEIs). KDPW manages a database of nearly 33,000 LEIs.
The LEI code issuer awarded as best performer in the large entity category (managing more than 100,000 LEIs) is InfoCamere of Italy. The winner in the small entity category (managing less than 5,000 LEI codes) is Depozitarul Central of Romania.
KDPW has been issuing LEIs since 2013. It was the first LEI issuer in the world to be accredited to by the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) responsible for ensuring the operation of the Global LEI System.

The LEI (Legal Entity Identifier) is a 20-digit alphanumeric code based on ISO 17442 issued by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO). In 2011, the G20 called on the Financial Stability Board (FSB) to draft recommendations for a global Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) and supporting governance. This led to the creation of a global LEI system which ensures the identification of legal entities participating in global financial transactions by assigning LEIs.
The Global LEI Foundation (GLEIF) was established in June 2014 by the Financial Stability Board as a not-for-profit organisation with a mission to implement and apply LEI standards.
